LALANNE HISTORY
The Lalanne Winery, of french origin, was founded in Bordeaux in 1842 by Francisco Lalanne Merlet and his wife, Juana Felicia Lataste, the Baroness of Bouchardeau.
The family moved to Spain in 1894 and bought a country house called “Castillo de San Marcos” in Barbastro, in the province of Huesca. Here, vines brought from Bordeaux such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Gewürztraminer were planted and produced the first high quality vineyards in the area. Today, these imported varietals have perfectly adapted to the Somontano climate and soil and are harvested along with traditional spanish grapes like Tempranillo and Macabeo.
Seven generations of the Spanish house founders have earned experience sufficient to consolidate the tradition of these wineries. Their greatest prestige has been their ability to maintain the production of quality wines generation after generation.
At Lalanne Winery, we are dedicated to taking special care of our vineyards. It is essential for the winery to have a perfect balance between vegetation, yield and production and that the grapes ripen slowly to obtain the best fruit. Only then can we achieve the highest quality in our wines.
Our wines make up the synthesis of the wisdom we´ve acquired throughout the years-allowing us to stand out within the Denomination Somontano as great makers of crianzas, reserves and special wines- characterized by a splendid layer of color, a complex structure which is potent and lingering on the palate, and concluding with a long, enveloping finish. The freshness in our young wines complemented by touches of flowers and fruits will surprise you. Our varietal wines stand out for the intensity of their aromas and flavor, uniting an expressive fruit with the character of the varietal grape.
At Lalanne, we have continued to adapt to the passage of time, maintaining the most natural and traditional procedures, while incorporating all the necessary technology to guarantee the highest quality in our wines. This makes Lalanne a special winery- producing clearly differentiated wines with unique and distinguishing characteristics.

ORIGENES Y RAICES
Bodegas Lalanne, de origen francés, fue fundada en Burdeos en el año 1842 por D. Francisco Lalanne Merlet y su esposa Dña. Felicia Lataste, Baronesa de Bouchardeau.
La familia se traslado a España en el año 1894 y compro la finca “Castillo San Marcos” en Barbastro, provincia de Huesca. Fue aquí donde se hicieron las primeras plantaciones de viñedos de alta calidad traídos de Burdeos, como Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer …. Hoy en día estas variedades se han adaptado perfectamente al clima y la tierra del Somontano, y se cultivan junto con las tradicionales Tempranillo y Macabeo.
Siete generaciones de descendientes españoles de los fundadores de la casa, constituyen suficiente entidad para consolidar la tradición de estas bodegas, permanecer tantos años elaborando vinos de calidad es el mayor prestigio de la bodega.
En Bodegas Lalanne prestamos especial cuidado y dedicación a nuestro viñedo. Es fundamental que la viña tenga un equilibrio en su vegetación, bajos rendimientos en la producción y que la uva pueda madurar lentamente, para que de esta forma, consigamos los mejores frutos. Solo así podremos obtener la mayor calidad en los vinos.
La experiencia acumulada durante tantos años nos permite destacar dentro de la Denominación de Origen Somontano, como los grandes elaboradores de crianzas, reservas y vinos especiales, caracterizados por su gran capa de color y estructura y por ser potentes y persistentes en el paso de boca y tener un final largo y envolvente. Estos vinos suponen la síntesis de toda la sabiduría adquirida en nuestra larga andadura. Nuestros vinos jóvenes sorprenden por su frescura y sus toques frutales y florales, y nuestros varietales se distinguen por la intensidad de aromas y sabores, uniéndose en ellos la expresividad frutal bien ensamblada con el carácter varietal.
En Lalanne nos hemos ido adaptando al paso del tiempo, manteniendo los procedimientos de elaboración más tradicionales y naturales, al mismo tiempo que hemos incorporado toda la tecnología necesaria para poder garantizar la máxima calidad en nuestros vinos. Todo esto hace de Lalanne una bodega especial con unos vinos claramente diferenciados y con unas características peculiares y únicas.
